Daniel and Laura were on a trip of a lifetime travelling round Europe when things go terribly wrong. They get kicked off a train with a stranger in Romania and things quickly escalate. Somehow they get home but their relationship will never be the same again. Both of them are haunted by what happened and struggle to make their way through life. When they think it couldn’t get any worse it seems someone is out to get them.
I liked the main character Daniel and I think a lot of people can relate to him. Laura was irritating for me. She’s weak and irrational and doesn’t do anything for feminism. I wish she had been a stronger character. There was another women in the book I was drawn to and wanted to learn more about. I’ll stop there before the spoilers come out!
It takes time for the reader to learn what really happened, but when you get there it’s only the beginning of the drama. Romania was a nightmare, but it seems home isn’t the safe place they thought it was. The book keeps you guessing about what really happened on their trip and then takes you on a journey to discover why they are being tracked down at home. It gives you twists and turns right through to the end, and leaves you wanting more….just a few more chapters!
An easy to read fast paced thriller that keeps you guessing right to the end.
Follow You Home is published on the 30th of June. I received an advance copy from NetGalley
