Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

Being an adult is hard work when you stop to think about all the things we have to deal with just to keep the family ticking over. It only takes one bad decision to turn it around.

Anxious people is about that one bad decision; A bank robbery gone wrong, a hostage situation, a leap from a bridge. It’s also about the small decisions that mean the world to other people; a bunch of tulips, a book, some fireworks, a letter.

Fredrick Backman’s writing style makes you crave more, and speed up to devour the book and find out where he plans to take you. A lighthearted and humorous book turns into a touching story of how we are all connected and can turn other people’s lives around with a simple gesture.

I won’t write much about the plot, because that is never important in a Fredrik Backman book. What is important are the small jokes, the touching moments between characters, and the four words that make you cry.

Anxious People is due to be published on 20th August. You can pre-order a copy here: Amazon or Waterstones.

Read my reviews for other books by Fredrik Backman here. I would suggest you buy them all, he is my all time favourite author! Fredrik Backman.

I received a copy of this book from both the UK and US publisher via NetGalley.
